This Antique and Original Mappe Monde (World Map) is a fine depiction in double hemisphere representation of the world, originally included in Ambroise Tardieu's "Atlas pour Servir a l'Intelligence de l'Histoire Generale des Voyages de Laharpe." The atlas, designed to clarify and support Laharpe's comprehensive historical accounts of global explorations, features detailed geographic depictions. Created in 1821 The double hemisphere format of the map allows for a simultaneous view of the Eastern and Western Hemispheres, providing a clear and balanced perspective of the Earth as understood during the time of its creation. The Map is framed and under Museum Glass and makes for a wonderful and interesting view at my Gallery.
